Ukulele For Beginners

22 Oct

With the holiday season just around the corner, there are a lot of people thinking about buying an ukulele. Whether it is a gift for yourself or a gift for someone else, choosing the best ukulele for beginners can be a bit difficult. There are a lot of ukuleles for sale to choose from, and if you are new to ukuleles or are purchasing a gift for someone else, the choices can be over whelming. How much should you spend? What are the good brands? What is the right size?

These questions all depend on who you are buying the ukulele for. In most cases you don't want to buy a cheap ukulele. The build quality and sound won't be adequate for what most players will want. The one exception is for young kids. A kids ukulele will most likely be a toy, and with the high chance that it will be damaged or broken, you probably don't want to spend too much money on it. Otherwise you should figure on spending at least around $60 for something decent. You can get something even better for around the $100-$150 dollar range depending on the size of the ukulele you are trying to purchase (soprano, concert, tenor, baritone).
